Measuring the pressing force real time during the forming process allows the user to specify limit set values based on press capacity ratings. When the high limit value is exceeded, an alarm condition may be used to stop the press operation and/or signal audio, visual alarm to the operator. Similarly, low limit alarm is activated for missing, misfed parts or insufficient press stroke force.
Press force measurement and monitoring extend the useful life time of moulds by avoiding excessive destructive forces. During initial trials and set-ups it is also possible to see the forces on different press sections in order to improve die design and part forming conditons.
LONG TERM CONSISTENT OPERATION AND QUALITY CONTROL
It is possible to work longer periods without urgent maintenance by avoiding press overload damages. Keeping the press forces within recommended limits prevents emergency stops and improves the die life.
The real time force measurement system tracks the forming force much faster than milliseconds and displays the force curve for each pressing operation on the operator panel. The force curve signature for each part can be tracked in a “quality” window. This allows one to detect any abnormal condition and separate faulty parts.
The press forces of each stroke are logged both as peak values and in real time graph format. All alarms can be checked from past records.
Press calibration is needed following the system installation. In this regard, FORM ATILIM MAKINA is helping in press calibration measurement via special load cells. The necessary apparatus for placing the load cells in accordance with the press design are planned and practiced together with the press maintenance team.
The press force measurement system is checked against the calibration tonnage values and adjusted to display the real time values.
